About NamesTheWheel

NamesTheWheel is a free collection of spinning wheels for picking names, drawing winners, splitting teams and making quick decisions. We built it for teachers, streamers, event hosts, teams and families who want a simple, fair way to choose, with no sign-up and no clutter.

How our wheels pick a winner

Fairness matters, especially for giveaways and classrooms. Before the wheel starts turning, the winner is chosen using your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), with a method that gives every entry exactly the same chance. The spin animation then lands on that entry. Nobody, including us, can influence the result.

Your privacy

The names you type stay in your own browser. They are saved locally so your list is still there next time, but they are not sent to our servers. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
